UK Housekeepers Association

The UKHA is now the largest Housekeepers Association in Europe, and is the platform to share knowledge, develop and support each other. Today, the UKHA is a nationally recognised Association. We still hold our original objectives as our passion, they are the same, but we have moved with the times, and we are now also assisting, developing and profiling the Housekeeping Managers. We are one of the front runners of Associations which represent hotel and catering professionals, and we are the sole organisation in the United Kingdom, representing Housekeeping and Accommodation Management.

Our history:
In April 1984, the first meeting started by determined Executive Housekeepers with the help and support of the Caterer and Hotelkeeper Magazine. In 1985 Lord Forte became our patron. Today, the UKHA is a nationally recognised Association. We are one of the front runners of Associations which represent hotel and catering professionals and we are the sole organisation in the United Kingdom, representing Housekeeping and Accommodation Management. Housekeeping and Accommodation Management is one of the principle management roles in any establishment, a role that manages the largest physical space in the building, employs and manages diverse teams and contracts, with often the largest budget. We work closely with our colleagues in other HK Associations in Europe, USA and Australia.

Our objectives:
Promote the professional status of Housekeepers.
Promote housekeeping as a career.
Provide a forum for the exchange of information, training and ideas.
